OK, so it's half to be funny, half functional. This miniature vacuum that runs solely on the power from a USB port on your computer is too cute to pass up. Plus, it's somewhat relevant to this blog, right? Now we just need to manufacture a mini Halo!
Great News for Allergy Sufferers
It's Monday again and that's never really good news. But today, I have some good news to share with allergy sufferers out there.
Zyrtec-D will soon be available over the counter!
http://www.ecanadanow.com/news/health/fda-approves-otc-zyrtec-d-20071112.html
The FDA just recently approved it. I remember how happy I was when Claritin was available over the counter, so this should be just as promising.
The Flu Blues
It's that time of year again when your insurance company, local hospitals and pharmacies are promoting the need for individuals to get their flu shots. I personally have not gotten a flu shot before (needles and I are not on good terms - ha!), but have a lot of friends and family that live by them each winter. Are you going to get a flu shot this year?
http://thefacts.com/story.lasso?ewcd=eb39cee0fb66351a
The above is an article out of Texas, with some educated predictions about this year's flu season. They are prediciting a manageable flu season this year, but still encourage to be safe rather than sorry. Supposedly vaccinations are readily available and plentiful this year. If you are concerned about a flu onset, remember too that Halo kills the flu virus. According to studies, the flu virus can live on your carpet or upholstery for up to 72 hours. Get yourself a shot and Halo and you should be all set for winter.

Ho-Ho-Holiday Horrors
With November already in full swing and the holidays just around the corner, there are a lot of important things to keep in mind with guests coming into your house. In addition to their preferences, it's important to remember your house guests' allergies as well. Do they have food allergies to be aware of? If they are staying the night, are they allergic to any specific detergents that may be in their sheets or towels or soap you may have in your restroom? Might they be allergic to your pets? An article I came across recently asks a lot of these questions:

These are all considerations to keep in mind as friends and family arrive into town. Be even more hospitable than in years before and have an even more enjoyable holiday season.
