Resolve to Lessen Your Allergies
Came across a great article today:
http://www.ajc.com/health/content/health/stories/2007/12/21/clutter_1226bh.html
We all make the effort (though sometimes futile) to start afresh in the new year with resolutions to lose weight, to get our finances in order, to be better people in general. Well, this article helps you outline a plan and the benefits of de-cluttering your house for all sorts of reasons; psychological, financially and even in way to help lessen your allergy and asthma symptoms. All of those old clothes, old catalogs and old knick-knacks are just collecting dust and mold. Start the new year with a new outlook on how to help your health!
Cabin Fever
Hi there everyone! We are back for just a few days between Christmas and New Years. How were all of your festivities? Everyone here at Halo certainly hopes all of you out there had a safe, blessed and fun holiday.
While you're closed in from the cold, huddled around the fireplace, sipping your cocoa (or egg nog if you're of legal age) remember, indoor bacteria levels can be from two to five times higher indoors than out. Take special care, especially with guests (of the adult, but especially the toddler and furry variety) coming in and out. It's cold and flu season and viruses can live on surfaces for long enough to get you and your family sick.
Put out some delicious, holiday scented, anti-microbial soaps for washing hands. Take special care when washing sheets with hot water after visitors to ensure they are clean for the next group of friends coming in. While cookies are baking and hams are being glazed, remember to be conscious of balancing your diet to stay healthy as well. And if you have a few days off, do your best to get some rest before 2008 comes along!
It's All In The Genes!
An interesting article came out this week about the link to a certain gene and allergies such as hayfever, etc.

Check it out and learn more about where your allergies are coming from.
MRSA and You
We were made aware of a nice, human interest story that I'd like to share with you, our wonderful and loyal readers.
A rash (no pun intended) of MRSA outbreaks have been taking the country my storm and one mother, whose child was infected contacted us, regarding our vacuum's abilities against the Superbug. Of course, we shared with her the facts and figures of the studies we have conducted proving that Halo Vacuums do kill MRSA. We also developed a quick one-pager sheet that she could distribute to her friends. She is now a happy owner of a Halo UV-ST.
Go to the link below for the file to send on to friends. Spread the word. MRSA is very serious and potentially fatal if not caught in time. Do your part to keep MRSA and other harmfuyl germs at bay.

Tuesday December 18, 2007 at 12:00AMI didn't say it, but...
A word of thanks is much deserved by Japadamus:
http://japadamus.com/2007/12/18/the-halo-vacuum/
To sum it up, if we were on the "Project Runway" of vacuum cleaners and floor care, Heidi Klum would say we are either in, or we are out. And we're IN, with Japadamus!
Shameless Plug - Totally Uncrate-ful!
We hope everyone had a phenomenal weekend, getting ready for Christmas just about a week away!
Well, if you get a chance, stop by our friends over at uncrate.com who have a nice little review/mention of our product. We are incredibly grateful for the mention.
YouTube? WE Tube!
Since we have been showing up almost everywhere on TV and in various videos as of late, we here at Halo have decided to create a YouTube Channel, so you can watch all of our exciting TV appearances, videos and an amalgam of who-knows-whats coming up in the future. All we can say is to tune in!
Tuesday December 11, 2007 at 12:00AMHello Halo! Important TV Appearances
Attention, TiVo and DVR Owners!
Halo will be appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and The View, tomorrow, December 12...and on Dr. Phil on December 13th! Check your local listings and see your new favorite appliance making a cameo on the boob tube in the next week!
We are so excited and ecstatic about the visibility and promotion we've been getting lately. And there is so much more to come!
The Clean Machine
Halo is proud to be mentioned in Columbus Alive, a very cool alterinative publication from my old stomping ground back in Ohio. Halo is touted as a very cool "Clean Machine" by author Phil, the Gadget Guy.
http://www.columbusalive.com/?sec=living&story=alive/2007/1206/l-gspot.html
If you're in Columbus: Chris, the manager at the Bed Bath and Beyond at the Shops on Lane Ave, is incredibly knowledgable about Halo and all the inner workings. The Best Buy at Tuttle Crossing has a few more in stock too. Rob, the Appliance Guy, is incredibly helpful, and coincidentally, a huge Buckeyes fan if you want to talk about Beanie Wells.
I'm just saying.
Huge News! Good Housekeeping Awards are OUT!
Good Morning America and Good Housekeeping want you to be able to check out the best products of 2008, and we have had the distinct honor of being on that famous list!
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Consumer/story?id=3963092&page=1
Being in the same ranks as companies like OnStar, Whirlpool, Purina, just to name a few, lends us intant credibility...but most importantly, reinforces what kind of quality Halo aspires to. Thank you to Good Housekeeping for the stellar, humbling distinction!
Tuesday December 04, 2007 at 12:00AMHo-Ho-Oh-No!
It has been suspected that bringing your live Christmas tree indoors can actually trigger allergies. They say it may not be the pine or pollen so much, but actually the mold that the tree creates, sitting in its own stagnant water.
http://allergies.about.com/b/2007/12/04/christmas-tree-allergy.htm
Instead of your tree meeting the unfortunate and untimely demise of this little guy, read the article above for some tips to minimize the effects of your tree on your holiday health.
More Revolutionary Floor Care News!
Big things have happened here at Halo in the last few months and we have just needed a moment to catch our breath and share them with you!
In only a few short months, we have made our first appearance in national retailers; Bed, Bath and Beyond and Best Buy in October and Sears in November. Education of their sales associates via eLearning and in-store visits have fortified their knowledge and created a special rapport with our retail partners. Appearances on local television shows and at trade shows have created an important personal bond with our individual customers.
We have appeared in widely circulated publications such as People Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Parents, Parenting and Oprah, just to mention a few. In fact, we were awarded the prestigious honor of 2007’s Most Innovative Vacuum by Good Housekeeping! Our TV commercial has made a real splash in Dallas, Minneapolis and New York City. Appearances on the CBS Early Show and The Rachael Ray Show, with scheduled appearances on Dr. Phil on December 12 and The View on December 14 are giving us the visibility we had only previously dreamt of. We even had the phenomenal distinction of having a billboard of our vacuum in Times Square!
As you can see, we have been incredibly busy at Halo Headquarters and it doesn’t appear that the train will be slowing down any time soon. With more exciting plans and products coming soon, predictions for the future of Halo are bright!
