When challenged with bringing home premature triplets, co-founders Ken and Carrie Garcia used innovative methods to make their home as clean as possible. In their quest, Halo was born. The Halo Story (Ken and Carrie - AS RECORDED)
Carrie:
A few years ago, Ken and I became the proud parents of triplet boys. Our boys were born prematurely, had compromised immune systems and had spent several months in the Neonatal Unit at the hospital. And we were so excited to bring these babies home from the hospital, but yet we were also terrified at the same time. How would we be able to provide them the same clean environment that they had been in in the hospital? We used to have to scrub in to see them, we used to have to wear hospital gowns, and now we’re getting ready to bring them home into our house. And we were really faced with a great challenge of how could we provide the same type of clean environment for them that they were used to in the hospital

Ken:
Our research showed us how filthy and disgusting carpeting really is in homes. Think millions of bacteria, and dust mites and germs and virus. We didn’t want our kids playing in that. And we knew that asthma rates had more than doubled since 1980 and that allergies could inset into children in the first 24 months of life. We knew that if we could combine the power of ultraviolet light with a vacuum that that would be the ultimate cleaning tool for our home.

Carrie:
And we really needed this type of clean in our home because we were on the carpeting all the time. I think back of so many memories with us with the boys – we were on the floor to feed them. We were on the floor reading, playing, tummy time. Everything. This was where we spent so much time and yet it was the one surface in the home that we were unable to disinfect or really get clean. We needed to be able to clean it beyond a traditional vacuum.
