Germs & Allergens

Now playing in your carpet (video)
Traditional vacuums leave millions of germs behind. Now, thanks to the same UV-C technology that has been used for decades to disinfect hospitals and purify drinking water, only Halo Ultraviolet Vacuums can instantly destroy dust mites, mold, and other harmful germs living in your carpet.

Dust mites
A typical square yard of carpet can contain more than 100,000 dust mites. It is estimated that dust mite allergens are a factor in 50% to 80% of allergy case and up to 25% of asthma cases. Exposure to dust mites in the first 2 years of a baby's life can trigger a lifelong allergy or even asthma.

Viruses
The flu is most easily contracted by children six months to 5 years, adults over the age of 59 and people with pre-existing respiratory illnesses or diseases. The flu virus is passed on through the air and through contact with contaminated materials.

Bacteria
Bacteria thrive in carpet, even new carpet. Indoor levels of many bacteria can be two to five times higher than outdoor levels.

Mold
Once you develop a sensitivity to mold, you never lose it. In 2001, two Chicago area school were shut down due to the elevated levels of mold on all school surfaces, but more specifically in their carpeting and ventilation system. It is estimated that thirty percent of all people are allergic to mold and mildew.

Flea Eggs
One female flea can lay about eighteen eggs a day. Because fleas usually lay their eggs while your pet is sleeping, your pet's resting areas and surrounding carpeting are likely sources of leas and their waste. Even if you don't see fleas, you may not be safe. Flea larvae and pupae can hid and survive in your carpet until adult maturity.

What Cider is trying to say is your carpet can be a very scary place, especially if you have pets. No matter how often mom cleans or how careful we are new allergens are constantly coming into our home, and that drives mom crazy.

Pet owners can have a ton of dust mites, ticks and flea eggs in their carpets – even tapeworms. Yuck! These creatures, especially dust mites, are a real problem for people with allergies and asthma. Plus, they irritate our sweet pets.

Until now, families either had to live with the problem or use harsh chemicals to clean their carpet. This is not only expensive, but can be bad for the environment, and that is not cool.

So, instead of all that, simply use a Halo vacuum. The Halo germ-killing vacuum reduces the allergens in your home and can even provide some much needed relief from allergies and asthma.

You’ll feel better knowing your home is clean and healthy. Your family and our planet will thank you too.
